The students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have decided to start an online petition against the school based on the fact that their student union (ULSU) was dissolved by the management. They have cried out using the hashtag #RestoreULSU which has been trending on social media. They said that the school management and its head forced them to fill
an indemnity form which they think would jeopardize their right as students for life. They said "we have decided to drag the school management to an online petition which will be submitted to the right sources soon because we felt they will hear our cry and come to our aid. The school have decided to silence our voice as a student and we won't take that. We won't sign away our birthright."
The petition started around 6am today but as at the time of filing this report, about 1,500+ students have signed this petition.
